BFI Short Film Fund recipient, Em Humble is a Northern writer-director-performer celebrated for her surreal, character-led humour.
She won a 2023 BFI Short Film Fund grant for her tragicomic short Chicken Girl—a festival darling that scooped awards for Best British Short, Best Leading Performance, and Best Comedy across multiple international festivals. Her online sketches have racked up over 350 million views online, featured by Hat Trick Productions, Pulped with Bits, and BBC Radio Manchester, Cumbria, and Tees.
Known for her sharp Northern wit, inventive visuals, and heartfelt absurdism, Em continues to write, direct, and perform across film, radio, digital media, and stage - solidifying her status as a leading multimedia comedy talent.
