About Komedia

Komedia is Bath’s first community owned venue dedicated solely to live entertainment.

Hosting over 400 events per year in the beautifully restored Grade II listed former Beau Nash cinema, we put on an unparalleled programme of comedy, music, cabaret, kids’ events, club nights and just about everything in between, with a focus on offering something for everyone in our local community.

The premier destination for touring entertainment in the region, Komedia has hosted some of the biggest names in the comedy and music industries since opening in 2008, and continues to pull world-class talent to the city. Our ever-expanding ‘wall of fame’ is crammed full with posters from when the likes of Buzzcocks, Joe Lycett, Katherine Ryan, Russell Howard, Band of Skulls, Brian Fallon, The Mary Wallopers, Peace, Kosheen, and The Damned have all come to visit.

We operate two fully flexible, well-equipped performance spaces. At the heart of it all is the Main Auditorium, which offers the ideal platform for full-scale live performances with audience sizes up to 780.

Alongside this, we’re also very proud to run The Electric Bar – an intimate live performance space and bar that’s ideal for much more intimate gigs, grassroots-level music and comedy showcases. Fully renovated during the Covid-19 pandemic, the space also doubles as our venue Box Office and bar during the day.

As you might be able to tell from the name, Komedia’s roots are in comedy, and every Saturday, we host our award-winning stand-up extravaganza: Krater Comedy Club. This is your chance to catch some of the very best UK and international stand-up live, right in the centre of Bath. Each show features three top comics and a cracking compere and – for the ultimate Saturday night out – all Krater Comedy Club tickets include free club night entry to The Big Disco after the show!

Find out more and browse upcoming line-ups at our Krater Comedy Club event page.

Komedia Bath operates as a Community Benefit Society with 227 Members. We have been awarded Arts Council funding on several occasions and work closely with many other fantastic local organisations. These include Bath College, Bath Spa University and The University of Bath, as well as Bath Carnival, The Bath Festival, the Bath Children’s Literature Festival, Bath Fringe Festival, and the FilmBath Festival.
