The Longest Johns, Bristol's beloved folk band, are embarking on their Pieces of Eight Tour this June, following their tour in Australia and ahead of a packed summer of festival performances.
Known for their rousing sea shanties and maritime tunes, The Longest Johns have captivated global audiences, and their live performances promise to deliver the same powerful energy fans have come to love.
The tour coincides with the band’s latest project, Pieces of Eight - a series of eight 3-track EPs, released monthly from March to October 2025. The tour and the project are both inspired by the historical "Pieces of Eight," a global currency used by sailors. These Spanish dollars, divided into eight segments or "bits," were used as legal tender in the United States until 1857, with two bits equalling a quarter of a dollar.
