“Time Flies is a glitzy reminder of everything that made LadyHawke unique when the New Zealander first emerged with her self-titled debut album in 2008: a sumptuous rush of electronica that’s icy cool, yet warm and human; a celebration of simply existing” – The Guardian Ladyhawke (‘Pip’ Brown) has released her highly anticipated fourth studio album ‘Time Flies’ – her first album release in five years.
This defining new creative chapter follows a period of change and renewal for Pip who, after several years of challenging health issues (including post-natal depression and being diagnosed and treated for skin cancer), approached the writing process with a newfound sense of freedom. The result is an album that echoes the pure pop mentality of her award-winning debut, with undeniably catchy pop melodies, but with a mature, reflective sense of self.
Speaking of the album’s release, Pip said: “I am so happy, and relieved, and feeling all the feelings that Time Flies is finally out today. Burnished in the flames of 2020+2021 – this album means so very much to me, and I can’t wait for you to listen, and dance in your living room (or cry). Let it be the catharsis for you that it was for me.”
