THIS IS A FREE EVENT IN KOMEDIA BATH’S ELECTRIC BAR FROM 2 – 4PM
Schnauser’s peculiar blend of psychedelic prog-jazz pop bursts forth with the kind of cloud bursting melodies, abrupt chord changes, wonky tempos and lyrical impishness beloved by fans of Soft Machine, XTC, Frank Zappa, Viv Stanshall and Field Music.
Lyrically they tell poignant stories of the nagging neuroses bubbling under the surface of everyday life, shot through with dark black humour, dry wit and inappropriate 9/8 fuzzbox usage.
Come and hear tales of selling parts of your anatomy to be processed into cheap tasty meat, apoplectic fury at being missold PPI insurance, and the bleak existential horror of being set adrift in space (accompanied only by your mother).
Formed way back in 2005 as a solo project by guitarist/vocalist Alan Strawbridge (The Lucky Bishops/Orange), with a fluctuating line-up the current band has coalesced into a performing and songwriting core of Alan, Duncan Gammon (keyboards), Jasper Williams (drums), Dino Christodoulou (sax) and new member Adrian Britton (bass)
Schnauser are currently at work on their 8th studio album, following up 2022’s Altra Seccatura, 2017’s Irritant and 2014’s Prog-Award nominated Protein for Everyone.
Expect much unveiling of new material at this special Komedia gig, but also unexpect the expected!
ALL AGES ARE WELCOME.
